Syracuse Sets 2025-26 Roster

After a week of tryouts in Late August, the Syracuse Men’s Hockey program has set its official roster for the 2025-2026 season. Syracuse will have 34 players on the team this season, as 12 newcomers join the 22 returners.

The 18 forwards for the Orange this season are:

Syracuse will be led by Head Coach Chris Timmons, who is set for his fifth season with the Orange. Jordan Alhart, Jon Lauer, and Zach Goldenberg are also returning members of the Syracuse staff.

Overview

The Orange are welcoming plenty of new faces to their group this season - the 12 newcomers include six forwards, four defensemen and two goaltenders. It will be the final season for eight seniors. 

The program recently named Connor Chesner, the senior defenseman, as the program’s 56th Captain. In his fourth and final year with the team, Chesner already has 95 career games played under his belt. 

After graduating eight seniors last year, the team added 12 newcomers. Amongst those include Cash Lawrence and Bryce Miller, two freshman goaltenders. 

Senior goaltender, AJ Finta, had a save percentage of 0.890% last season after facing 724 shots, the most in his collegiate career. After playing 21 games last season, Finta went 13-5-3 - a major improvement from his sophomore season, where he went 6-10-2 in 18 games played. He looks to finish out his final year as an Orange strong, alongside senior goaltender John Angelino and the two new goaltender additions. 

The Syracuse Men’s ACHA program will host their home opener weekend on Friday, September 19th at 6pm and Saturday, September 20th at 7pm against Penn State (ACHA Division II). 

The Orange play their home games at Tennity Ice Pavilion on Syracuse University campus. The games are free to attend for the general public and for students as well as being broadcast live on the SU Hockey Network.
