Meet the Six Recruitment Additions to the Orange

With 2026-2027 on the horizon, Syracuse Men's Hockey is excited to announce the six recruits joining the team for the upcoming season. All six players are incoming first-years, made up of three forwards, two defenseman, and one goaltender.

Jacob Roberts, Forward

From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Roberts comes to Syracuse after two successful seasons with the Seahawks Hockey Club (EHL). During his time with the Seahawks, he helped the team capture the league's first-ever Triple Crown - capturing the Division Championship, Regional Championship, and the Eastern Hockey League Championship. The forward finished third on the team in scoring with 23 goals in his most recent season, averaging just over a point per game. The 21 year old also brings valuable post-season experience to the Orange. Roberts will wear #11 for 'Cuse next season.

Aidan Wilson, Forward

A New Jersey native, Wilson arrives at Syracuse after developing with the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the AJHL following a successful stint in the New Jersey Rockets AAA program. At 6-foot-2, Wilson brings size and physicality after gaining valuable experience playing against older talent in Western Canada. Wilson will don #21 for the Orange next season.

Jackson Kimelman, Forward

Kimelman joins the Orange after a standout season at Kimball Union Academy (NEPSAC), where he finished third on the team in scoring last season, netting 16 goals and ending with 36 points in as many games played. From Toronto, Ontario, he developed at one of the most respected prep hockey programs in the north-east before committing to the Orange. Kimelman is set to wear #13 for Syracuse next year.

Chris Paolone, Defenseman

From Scarborough, Ontario, Paolone adds size and offensive upside to the Syracuse blue line after a productive season at The Frederick Gunn School (NEPSAC). The defenseman recorded seven goals during his most recent season, showcasing his ability to contribute offensively while competing against top prep-school talent. Paolone will wear #25 for 'Cuse next year.

Ben Hugessen, Defenseman

Hugessen arrives at Syracuse after gaining valuable junior experience in both the NOJHL and CCHL, strengthening the Orange's defensive depth. From Toronto, Ontario, Hugessen has competed against older junior players across two different Junior A leagues, bringing a strong foundation and versatility to the Syracuse blue line. Hugessen will sport #3 for the Orange during the upcoming season.

Charlie Pickart, Goaltender

Pickart joins the Orange after helping guide University School of Milwaukee to a Wisconsin State semifinal appearance. An Illinois native, Pickart brings valuable experience competing in high-pressure games and will add depth to Syracuse's goaltending group. Pickart will wear #33 in net for the Orange next season.

The six additions will join the Orange this fall as Syracuse looks ahead to the 2026-2027 season. With experience across junior and prep hockey, the incoming class will look to contribute both on and off the ice as the program continues to build toward its championship goals.

"We're excited about this incoming recruitment class and the impact we believe they can make right away. They'll help fill the shoes of a talented senior class as we enter a new era of Syracuse Hockey," said Head Coach Chris Timmons. "We have high hopes for this group and believe they can help us compete for a championship. As we continue finalizing our roster for September, there's a lot to be excited about."

Syracuse will hold an open tryout to round out their roster in early September and begin training camp shortly after. The 2026-27 season will get underway in late September. The official schedule for the upcoming season will be announced at a later date.
