SYRACUSE HOCKEY
RECRUITING INFORMATION

Syracuse University Men’s Ice Hockey would like to express an interest in your future as a student-athlete. Syracuse provides a combination of superior academics coupled with an outstanding hockey program for those that are interested in continuing their competitive hockey careers at the collegiate level. The Syracuse University Hockey Team is a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division I level. The team competes in the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League (ESCHL) alongside the University of Delaware, Drexel University, New York University, the University of Rhode island, the University of Pittsburgh, Niagara University, and Stony Brook University. The Syracuse Hockey program was founded in 1959 and has a rich tradition of success - winning multiple conference championships and appearing in the ACHA National Tournament 3 different times

The team consists of approximately 28-30 junior, prep school, and top-level high school players from across North America and the rest of the world.  Many are recruited, but a portion of the roster is made up of walk-on athletes who are selected in a tryout that takes place early in the Fall semester. Funding for team equipment, apparel, travel accommodations, and game costs is covered by Syracuse University, player dues, and fundraising.

SU Hockey plays approximately 30 games per season - much like an NCAA program. Games are played from late September to mid-February and conclude with a conference playoff tournament. If qualified for, the ACHA National Tournament is typically played in Mid-March. The team practices 3-4 times per week and typically plays 2 games each weekend. All home games and practices are held at the Tennity Ice Pavilion - a modern on-campus facility.

Prospective players are encouraged to fill out a recruiting form using the link below.
